I worked for HM Revenue & Customs and the former HM Customs & Excise for over thirty years before I left to start VAT Services North. During that time I was involved in all areas of VAT from Assurance visits, investigations, liability issues, training, tax avoidance and most recently Partial Exemption and Business Non-Business.
A few years ago I took the lead in the team making VAT refunds to sports clubs, it was at this time that I became interested in the Partial Exemption and Business Non-Business issues (and other VAT issues) faced by charities and sports clubs. Since then I have drafted a large number of Partial Exemption and Business Non Business methods for a variety of charities ranging from sports clubs, theatres, private schools, churches and wild life trusts.
I also have a lot of experience of carrying out assurance visits to a wide variety of businesses from the smallest to the very large dealing with the VAT issues that I found, including VAT returns, liabilities, partial exemption, import export procedures.
I can provide a personal bespoke service that will provide a solution to any VAT issues that your business may have including negotiating with HMRC and assisting with dispute resolution.
